About The Wako

My photo
Who's too chicken to dance in public ? Who's too chicken to dip bananas in spicy sauce ? Who's too chicken to parade around with their underwear as headwear ? Not me.

Only along with the combo you get...

As the nail polish has started fading off the tips of my fingernails I'm aware it's time to pick another colour to give them a make over and to update you guys with what's going on. Last Thursday, Slushé had a jam session and we came up with a few new covers which are up on my Facebook profile. Hope you guys have the time to check it out and provide feedback which will appreciated well!

Ten again

Sitting in the living room of my grandparent's place for the 2nd day of my break I could almost lose myself to reminiscence. Other than the fact our 2005 family photograph in right in my face at this moment, listening to Bo Amir Iqram's Ten Again invites nostalgic moments of me & my cousins running around this very place playing tag or smashing chocolate cake into each others faces during birthday gatherings. Until this very day, when everybody gets together there is no limit to laughter and noise our crowd offers but a lot has change as now I am the only one tip-tapping away on the notebook waiting for my cousin to come get me before we go to watch... *over excited smile* Pirates Of The Carribean 3! So, I admit not everything has changed. :)

Whoopsi-Daisy!

Last weekend's Facilitators' Camp turned out to be more like a 72 hour holiday at Sugam Karnatica. 12 good friends I haven't caught sight of for the past year, a big house and no "lights-out" time -endless fun! The highlight for the weekend though was discovering on a lovely Sunday evening while rolling around the gentle grass that we had fluent-tamil-speaking chinese neighbour while ... actually cracking a few jokes about him thinking he wouldn't understand. I gotta say, what an awakening to the diversified world we have now!

The Combo

My mind can act as it's own tour guide travelling to further destinations than a plane could take me earlier this morning. The rest are a little tired from the flight but not me. I'm just relaxing by the windows of my hotel room listening to some of my favourite techno music that clearly could describe me as the urban party-till- you-lose-your-feet-lifestyle lover yet again I'm refreshed by all of the nature I'm being exposed too. Could I possibly pick between cemented pavements or dirt roads ? I don't think so. I've always wanted a little bit of both in my life. Tonight I'd have a glimpse of the city then for the next few days I'm going to be up hiking. Aaah, Sabah ... you make me think so much.

Undergoing a little bit of thought in a little hotel room,

Cookies or Love ?

Yesterday, I barely hesitated waking up to spending my morning at PAWS with a couple of other Interactors. We reached the place by 9am. After getting through registration, the guy with the green contacts (which Shaun couldn't get over for some reason) gave us a little bit of prep talk.

We got split into two groups at first, I obviously stuck with the cats since I'm generally not good with dogs due to one bad experience two years ago o_o

They were supposed to brushing the cats ... Haha they did la.

That's Shaun, Kelsey & Dev at the dogs section. I joined in later on, the doggies were so friendly.

Raehan took some time to grab hold on his little puppy. Hahaha hyper fella.

Dog walking ! Or in this case, dog running.

I couldn't even put my arm around Azman 'cause all of smelled like dogs & cats. :P

I named this one after my sister. They have so many similarities !

Thank you, PAWS for having us. And to everyone else, please do take some time during this semester break to drop by animal shelters like PAWS or SPCA. They aren't supported by the government & basically are on their own in many situations. It wouldn't take much to help them out. These shelters & the animals need you for atleast a day to brighten their's. May we reignite the love !

Yes, release !

Finally the exams have ended. Even though I have day trips to go to, voluntary work to join, event planning meetings I've got my "me time" back too ! Before this it was just all about Biology, Physics, Chemistry & *mumbles some geeky stuff* what not. Today my long time unsatisfied cravings were satisfied which basically means, shopping ! 8)

I didn't go to a mall this time though. Mom said she just had to take to me to some boutiques in Uptown 'cause they looked nice. And so we did, we were walking down the street just going into random boutiques and amazingly returned back home with some pretty cute stuff. Definitely spent less than we usually did too.

Been wanting a floral dress for a while.

I just really liked the belt, the dress went well with it. Haha naaah I'm kidding.

Floral top that I'm going to add to my "lazy clothes" pile. You know the type of casual clothing that look good anywhere.

Somehow during the past few weeks I haven't been spending much time with my friends. So guys, Ima make it up to all of you during this break. Just ring me ! I have such amazing friends who provide me with so much of care & comfort. And I need to take the time to say thank you for that. Thank you everyone.

Ooooh look who's in San Fran planning to go cliff diving right now. ;D

The Kids Keep It Flaming

What did I do while most of my friends were probably busy celebrating over their yee sangs on Chinese New Year ? Grill chicken. -__-'

My aunt decided to have a bbq. Haha.

The food was all prepared and they had the grill going on outside by the time me & Vinod got there. I wouldn't say we were late. :o

Why does my uncle always want to puzzle me ? What a poser. Haha.

I didn't understand why were they still cooking when we had so much of food ordered already.

They let me prepare the punch, once again ! Hehe. Somehow I have so much of fun at this.

We didnt have the easiest time uncorking the sparkling juice. Gotta add some zest to the punch !

Eventually they made us take over the grill. Ohh emm gee, the smoke. Our batch of chickens & shrimps were better than the earlier ones ! *Or we like to believe so*

What did I tell you about the food ? Haha.

These weren't too bad considering the fact they had to do some major last minute marinating. We're talking only about 10 minutes of marination ? :S

Uncle saving the chickens. Haha.

The party went on till atleast one in the morning. Just mostly chit chatting & getting hyper on Coke at the patio for me, Vinod & Ruban. Cricket catching for Ruban too , he's such a pro at it. Haha ! Cause there were so many flying around outside. Huge ones too. One of the crickets even took the liberty on chasing after me all the way into the kitchen. -__-' The guys just sat there laughing. Must've been a sight.

Ruban glows. And ... that was random.

A Day For Love

Valentines Day is tomorrow ! And I'm hyped, definitely. Not sure if I beat my mom to getting more valentines than her but oh well. All's good. :D

Either way I would say it's not a MUST to have valentine. I mean this day was created just to remind us to express the appreciation we all have for each other. Love is conveyed everywhere, like the oxygen you inhale in. So you are missing out on loads if you choose to be blind to that by worrying over being single on V-Day.

We're Ready

Christmas passed by well and now the next string of 365 days is at the brink of beginning setting a big hand out for more happiness to endure and chaos to pull through together. But before I engage my mind into putting some thought for my new year's resolutions while sipping on a hot cup of tea, I have to ramble about my trip to Langkawi Island. Take my word on it, the place just never gets old.

We arrived at around lunch time on the 23rd, rented a car and were off to get some lunch.

He stole my Starbucks ! =___= Hehe, nothing like a cool toffee nut latte to refresh.

Awana Porto Malai is where we got rooms at. The boardwalk is their main attraction of course. I spent hours there throughout the three day trip. Feeling the breeze, setting my mind free to the breathtaking shade of light sea green that happened to present everywhere I turned. Except in my shorts.

We checked in and decided to get right down to bussiness. >: |

ISLAND HOPPING. :D *uber bimbotic tone*

The speedboat ride was bumpy but fun. One tip though, take your shades along. Hehe.

First stop, The Pregnant Maiden Lake.

This is actually the deepest lake in the whole of Malaysia but they don't stop you from going in as long you have a lifejacket on. It's also said to have some kind of magical powers to help infertile women to gain a child. So, everyone better jump in there just in case ! O_O Haha.

Ruban's Spiderman jumping pose. Told you I'm not too bad of a photographer. ;)

Omg daddeh ! NOOO. Haha.

Ruban, me & Vinod.

Second stop, eagle feeding.

We got to see some big golden eagles swooping across not too far away from our boat. I wasn't able to get some good shots out of that cause lets just say my camera just isnt meant for that kind of photography. Cybershots are best for these. :)

But, I didn't get a Cybershot ... moving on.

Last stop, this amazing beach with a very forgettable name. Haha.

I just honestly feel like we are destined for failed jumpshots. Haha. They are much more fun to look at. :D

All tired out we head back to Porto Malai only in the evening after having a drink and splashing around in the water. They had music & food at the boardwalk that night which lasted well past midnight.

The next morning, we're all up by 8am just in time for breakfast. Mom & Dad dumped the coupons with us and took off to have something at Cenang Beach. Haha.

The nasi lemak sambal was killer ! Omggg @.@

Don't we look alike ?

MANGROVE CRUISE ! *another bimbotic tone*

We basically saw different types of mangrove trees. It was pretty interesting, this is also where I found out that I sucessfully achieved 7As in my PMR ! Now I have emotional ties with mangrove swamps. :'D

They called this the crocodile cave. We also went to a bat cave ! Ruban said he saw one flying right above my head when he flashed the torch light. Other than the bats there wasn't much we could do there, except getting chased by monkeys. Haha.

We had lunch on a floating restaurant. Like it was literally on floats with no stilts. So everytime a boat passes by fast, all the boats there would start rocking lightly as well as the restaurant. Ooooh ! I also got the honour too pee on the floating restaurant's floating toilet. Now how wicked is that, right ?

Those were just scary. They just liked to jump out of the water a lot. O_O

Yes, we got to pick the fish. Wheee.

Later in the evening we decided to drive down to Tanjung Rhu, where they had this amazing secluded beach there. There isn't much of a crowd here 'cause its pretty far from the main town.

This beach was much more shelly. And trust me, you are bound to find many interesting things here in the water like how I found a hermit crab. Since it was Christmas eve, all of the tourists in the hotel decided to gather that night and sing a couple of Christmas songs together before it got too late.

Day 3.

UNDERWATER WORLD ! *unenthusiastic bimbo tone*

We managed to see a more unique perspective of aquatic animals.

I like jellyfish. Their fun too stare at and the best part is, the dont stare back !

I have a favourite fish now. Our flight back was at 2pm, so we were off to the airport after our little visit to the Underwater World.

Did I have fun ? Yes. Do the turtles really bite ? I dont know.

This is Kiru. Out of 2009, into 2010.

See you guys then.
